(n)-terACT About the founder artist / designer About RadiATe
|
We are looking for a few artists who share our vision. Radi8.org is an artist's group whose epicenter is in New York City. We are two artists looking for a few other installation video artists to join us for the purpose of creating artwork that we can exhibit together in New York and elsewhere. First, look throughly at the work of the two artists who are the core members of Radi8: Aliyah Marr and Chaolun Baatar. For the time being we are only interested in exhibiting video installation art, but we want to form a group of artists and artwork that is international in scope. If you think that we would find your work of interest, please the curator a URL where we may view your work. Include some information in your email (or links to information) about you and your work. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANYTHING BUT TEXT in your email. If you do not have work that you can show online, contact us via email and we will tell you how to send your DVD for review. Please note that there is a $20.00 charge for offline review while the online review is free. If you are accepted, you will be expected to contribute to the functioning of the group, either by monetary dues or time and effort. You will have either a link to your work from Radi8, or a space on this site. The main purpose of Radi8 is to expand each member's reach and exhibition opportunities. We welcome new members who have contacts in their country and experience exhibiting their work, but we also value the artist for his or her work. Any representation, either in print, or on the web (excluding links) will incur costs that each individual involved will have to pay, but we will endeavor to keep the costs affordable. The name of the group is RadiATE — core members will be those who contribute most to the group; either in time or money; all others are on a provisional invitational status, subject to inclusion depending on their level of participation. All members who contribute time and/or money will be able to participate in exhibitions. All members are expected to work at gaining new exhibition opportunities for the group in their country or city of residence. RadiATE takes advantage of today's new media, both on the web to document our work and exhibitions; and off the web, to show our work. We are showing only video art (no complex installation formats for now) because it will be relatively easy to show the work of every artist in the group without the artist needing to be present for installation. All the artist's in the group will be able to ship their DVD's very cheaply by mail right to the gallery in the country or city. In this way, every artist in the group benefits from the contacts of every other artist, and gains exposure in many more venues than would normally be possible if they were working alone. DESCRIPTION RadiATe is an online exhibit space and forum dedicated to the convergence of fine art and science. RadiATe uses technology and design to promote and exhibit the multi-disciplinary work of the artists involved in the group. The site itself is an interactive art experience. Currently, the site features the work of founder, Aliyah Marr, but will be opened to other artists in the group. ----- HISTORY Radi8 was born out of a need for artists to instantly publish and document their work. It is a gallery space designed by the artist: its function is to serve as proving ground for new work, as a new publishing tool, and, eventually, as a forum for interdisciplinary, multimedia artists. Radi8 invites curators, editors, program directors, and educators to inquire about any work exhibited here for the purpose of exhibition, education or publication. This site is open to new ideas and interesting collaborations.
